Marion Flament

Overview

Marion Flament is a graduate of the Ecole Boulle and the ENSAD, where she studied stage design. She now divides her time between commissioned set designs and personal artistic practice, enriched by her interest in staging and theatricality.

In her installations and sculptures, Marion Flament restores the fleeting perception of a moment and the magic of a special place. Freezing its shadows, its lighting, its atmosphere ... her practice is carried by a close relationship with light.

Research in the studio and experimentation are essentials in her process, in order to catch the materiality and pictoriality of light. Marion Flament works with fire, which imprints reflections, shadows and time, glass, which reflects light, and stained glass, which carries a divine message when crossed by the sacred light.

Place occupies a very important dimension in her work. She aims to make place's history and memory transpire in her creations and their settings.
